Demonstration Workshops (at Least Two Workshops) be Organized in association with the NIDM, NDRF, NCDC, Param Military, Fire Brigade, CISF, Local Administration etc.

Demonstration workshops provide practical training in disaster preparedness, emergency response, rescue operations, first aid, fire safety, and evacuation. Such workshops should be organized in association with professional agencies such as the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), paramilitary forces, fire brigades, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and local administration. Practical demonstrations help students and community members understand emergency procedures better than theoretical learning alone. At least two workshops can be organized to provide hands on knowledge, improve confidence, and develop essential disaster response skills.

Workshop 1: Disaster Response, Search and Rescue Workshop

Objective

The first workshop can focus on basic disaster response, search and rescue, evacuation, and first aid. The objective is to provide participants with practical knowledge about responding safely during earthquakes, building collapses, floods, fires, and other emergencies.

Associated Agencies

The workshop can be organized in association with NDRF, NIDM, local administration, police, paramilitary personnel, and trained emergency responders.

Major Activities:

1. Disaster Preparedness Demonstration

   Experts explain how to prepare emergency plans, emergency kits, evacuation routes, communication arrangements, and safe assembly points.

2. Search and Rescue Demonstration

   Trained rescue personnel demonstrate basic methods used to locate and safely rescue people trapped during disasters. Participants learn the importance of assessing hazards before entering affected areas.

3. Evacuation Drill

   A simulated emergency is created, and participants practise moving safely from a building or designated area to an assembly point. The drill demonstrates the importance of calm movement, following instructions, and keeping emergency routes clear.

4. First Aid Demonstration

   Medical professionals demonstrate basic first aid procedures for common emergency situations. Participants learn how to seek professional medical assistance and provide appropriate initial support until trained medical personnel arrive.

5. Emergency Communication

   Participants learn how to report emergencies accurately, communicate their location, and follow official instructions during disasters.

The workshop develops awareness, confidence, teamwork, and basic emergency response skills. Participants understand how trained agencies operate during disasters and learn the importance of preparedness and community cooperation.

Workshop 2: Fire Safety, Industrial and Hazardous Material Emergency Workshop

Objective

The second workshop can focus on fire safety, industrial accidents, hazardous material emergencies, and evacuation procedures. It aims to provide participants with practical knowledge about preventing fires and responding safely to emergencies involving hazardous substances.

The workshop can be organized with the support of the Fire Brigade, CISF, NDRF, NIDM, local administration, industrial safety personnel, and other relevant emergency agencies.

Major Activities:

1. Fire Safety Demonstration

   Fire service personnel demonstrate fire prevention measures and explain the different types of fire emergencies. Participants are introduced to basic fire safety equipment and emergency procedures.

2. Fire Evacuation Drill

   A simulated fire emergency is conducted in which participants follow designated evacuation routes and assemble at a safe location. The exercise emphasizes calm evacuation and avoiding unsafe actions.

3. Hazardous Material Awareness

   Experts explain the risks associated with chemicals, gases, fuels, and other hazardous materials. Participants learn how to identify warning labels and understand why untrained persons should not handle hazardous substances.

4. Industrial Emergency Response

   Participants are introduced to emergency procedures followed during industrial fires, chemical leaks, explosions, and other workplace emergencies. The demonstration highlights the importance of alarms, emergency shutdown procedures, isolation of dangerous areas, and professional response teams.

5. Role of CISF and Security Personnel

   CISF and security personnel can explain the importance of access control, security management, evacuation support, and coordination during emergencies at sensitive installations.
